I looked all over Etsy but after getting a quote for just the ties ($61) I realized that wasn't going to happen. I'd have to be doing some sewing make this a reality. So I did. They are not perfect by any means but I'm quite proud that it all came together in my sleep deprived state. So here's my hard work:

I can't believe I have a Five(5) year old! It's makes me feel happy and sad and old all at the same time. He is such a good big brother... and he loves to make Nora laugh. And he tolerates Azer following him around with everything. He had a period where he didn't like going to school - but he is back to loving it (for which I'm very grateful)! He loves playing outside - running, basketball, riding his bike, and playing at the park that is our yard. I can't wait to see what 5 brings for him!

Merry Christmas

We couldn't afford to send our Christmas letter to all of our friends and family so hopefully the online version can still bring you cheer!

Dear Friends and Family,

What a year 2010 has been! The big news is that we added a beautiful little girl to our family and we love her. The boys can hardly leave her alone most of the time. They just love to give her kisses.

Ryan completed his last final exam for his penultimate semester of school, and we're all excited for school to be over and see what the future holds for us. He just might have arranged it so that he has no final exams in his last semester, but let's not count our eggs before the chickens hatch.

April has had some success in her photography business until little Nora got here, and she has really been honing her skill. Now she spends her time on Nora's schedule, while managing two boys with the energy of an entire basketball team.

Cameron is in preschool and he loves to be on time every day. He tells us he wants to be the first one there and the first one to leave every day. He has lots of friends there and really loves show and tell day on Thursdays. Last week he told me he wanted to take "my car bin and aaaaaaaaall the cars." (That's about 50 cars.) He settled for taking his toy medical supply kit instead.

Azer loves to do whatever Cameron is doing, watch Toy Story 3, love/kiss/ride Nora when mom isn't looking and otherwise create havoc when possible. He's a great kid who makes us laugh and he loves to laugh himself. Azer loves to take a drive up to the University Hospital where we can see the helicopter that lands on top of a parking garage. He always insists that we get out of the car to take the elevator to the small observation area where we are on the same level as the helicopter. But heaven forbid a helicopter should actually land while we’re there…he’s afraid someone will offer to let him get close to it, and that terrified him!

Nora is adorable, she loves dad's kisses, might detest her brothers just a little bit, and sleeps to the beat of her own drum...or alarm clock. Once she even slept for six hours straight. That was sure nice of her! Oh, and she’s been very smiley as of about ten days ago, and she knows how valuable every gorgeous smile is to us.

The Grateful Post

I really wish that Thanksgiving weren't the skipped over holiday. It's that time where we all get to remember and count our blessings - not that we shouldn't be doing that all year it's just more abundant now. People already have their Christmas decorations up and we haven't even cooked the turkey yet. I have so much to be thankful for this year and I need to get it out there for everyone to enjoy.

First, and foremost I'm so grateful for my children. When I hear stories about terrible things that happen to kids (sickness, kidnapping, etc.) it makes me scared and fearful. Then I am reminded that instead of living in fear I need to be grateful for all that my kids are. I'm am such a blessed mom and only hope I can live up to the mom that they deserve to have.

I'm also thankful for my husband. He sacrifices a lot for our family and doesn't complain about it. He also puts up with my extensive craziness with (mostly ;)) patience. He is such a great dad for our kids - the boys race to the door as soon as he is home because they are always excited to see him.

I am grateful for all of my family. They always support me and are there if I ever need anything. Wherever we have lived we've always had family take the time to come and visit us. We all really appreciate that and everything that is done for us.

I'm also so thankful for friends. I'm moved a lot and in every place I've lived I've met people that will be my friends for life. Even people in places that I've never lived have become my true friends. I'm am so grateful for people who have helped shape me and make me better for me having known them. I'm so thankful for the friends that I've had forever and have known me through a lot of my life's stages and still stick by me.

I know I complain a lot about our current situation - and it's hard not to focus on the bad when you are constantly faced with it, but I am very blessed. More blessed than any of my challenges should be able to weigh down. I think every day should be Thanksgiving - we'd all be thankful and full. I hope everyone gets to enjoy some pie tomorrow!

A Month...

I can't believe Miss N. is a month old! It's crazy how time flies. It seems like she's always been in our family - and I can't imagine life without her. She drives us crazy from 6-7pm to 11-1pm with her fussy time but she's worth it. We sure do love her! The boys love to kiss and hug on her and are so sweet to her. I thought the novelty of having a baby would fade... but, nope. I was worried about Az-man becoming a big brother but he has been fabulous and Cam is still a great brother too.

Flowers! Oh my! We had a fun Halloween despite the rain. The boys were able to do some trick-or-treating and get some candy. They had fun dressing up in their costumes (which they do all the time) and having a costume parade with our neighbors.

As some of you may know I had high ideals/plans for how my labor and delivery was going to go this pregnancy. I was NOT going to have another c-section if I could do anything about it - I spent a lot of time finding a provider who would let me try to have a VBA2C (vaginal birth after 2 c-sections). Well, things, as they sometimes do, didn't turn out as planned/hoped. I ended up with gestational diabetes again and that ended up changing my plans. I had a hard couple of days/weeks coming to terms with this and although I'm not "happy" with how it all turned out I know that it was for the best and I am at peace with it. I ended up with a repeat c-section on Tuesday, October 5th. So here's the story... and photo's. We are all SO in love with this little girl...

My mom, Eric, and grandma showed up Tuesday morning as my mom was going to be staying with the boys for the time I was in the hospital (and a few more days). We were scheduled to go in at 10:30 but we got a call just before 9:00 asking us if we could come in early. We put everything in overdrive and arrived at the hospital by 9:30 (we're less than 5 minutes away).

Our nurse and the nursing student (we had N at a teaching hospital) got us all set up and explained how everything would go. Janette, our nurse, was so amazing and she definitely went above and beyond in helping me get the most out of the experience. I told her the things we wanted to happen- and she made them happen even though they don't normally do them that way. YAY for amazing nurses!!
The anesthesiologist (the resident version) came in and explained everything and okay's my request for my Ipod during surgery. But not for Ryan being in there while they give me the spinal - boooooo. This is the worst part for me. I have mini panic attacks when it comes time so I told the guy he'd be in charge of my freak out. LOL!

Then we're ready to go in- me, my ipod stocked with soothing Norah Jones/Sarah M/ Jack Johnson type music, and "my army" of staff. So we start the spinal and I get my tunes going. But wait- I didn't update my songs right so it's an older playlist. My workout playlist. So some Blink 182 starts blaring... not exactly calming. Janette was with me the whole time talking my ear off so I didn't have time to focus on them paralyzing me from the anesthesia. She was seriously amazing.

It's finally time to start. I'm laid on the table, tunes blaring and Ryan is standing by my head. It took a reallyreallyreally long time- or felt really long- as there was extra scar tissue they have to cut through. I was just trying to focus on the end result and not the smells. Then, finally, Ryan tells me they are getting her out - and Kanye is yelling in my ear ;). And it all becomes worth it... the fear, the surgery, the recovery - all worth it. Miss N, all 8lbs 11oz 20.5 in of her made it ALL worth it.

This is where the first of two things happen that don't normally happen. One of the things I really wanted to happen was to be able to have the baby placed on my chest right after birth. While it wasn't right after birth I was able to get skin-to-skin contact with her pretty dang close. I can't thank Janette enough for making this happen for me. Ryan even got some skin-to-skin time with baby N as well.

Then the second unconventional thing I requested got to happen. At this hospital during after a c-section the baby is whisked to the nursery to be checked. I did NOT want this to happen. Janette was able to get all of the needed people in there so Nora didn't have to leave at all and got all checked out in there. Yes! Fabulous!

They finally finished sewing me up and I went to recovery for a hour and my sister's & niece were able to come in and see us. And I was able to nurse Nora who nurses like a champ!

The rest of the day went downhill quickly but I will spare everyone those details. Let's just say it involved a terrible nurse, nausea, vomiting (after a c-section!!), and other general unpleasantness. I don't remember a lot after the recovery hour period but we had lots of visitors and Cameron and Azer loved getting to finally meet "Baby Nora".

Growing Up and Growing Out

The time finally came. My oldest started preschool this week and I don't know who it's been the hardest on... me or Azer. Cameron's LOVED it and loves talking about it so I know it hasn't been hard on him!

This may come as a surprise to some given my non-emotional person status. but. I cried.

That's right. I cried. Right now I'm blaming it on pregnancy hormones...who knows what I'm going to blame it on when this baby makes her appearance. Probably post-pregnancy hormones.

After we dropped him off and came home Az-man then proceeded to ask every five minutes "Go get brother?" Poor Az-man. He's going to have a hard time adjusting to Cam being gone I think. I'm glad that I do get some one-on-one time with Az before the new one comes as that doesn't happen very often and I love watching his personality. He is such a funny, spunky kid and he makes us all laugh a lot.

We have about 3 weeks left until my due date - but as most people know that's not a very reliable indicator of when she's actually going to show up. I'm hoping it's sooner rather than later as I'm getting sick of all these doctors appointments.

Keep watching as there will hopefully be an update in the near future. I know, shocking, but then again it could be another couple months. You never can tell....

The Amazing Space Bags

I saw an infomercial about space bags and thought that would be the perfect solution to our space problem. We've been living in a *tiny* two bedroom, one bath, 680 sq ft apartment. Until this weekend- then we get to move to a three bedroom. YEAH! We'll still have more stuff than room so I thought they would be a good idea. Ryan was skeptical - but I headed off to Walmart to purchase some. A few days after I got them I convinced Ryan to try them with me. FAIL!! We filled it up and then as someone (*cough*, Ryan) tore it as he was zippering it closed. Ryan was not impressed - but I still thought we should give it another shot, all the people that I had talked to about it that raved about it couldn't be wrong. Right?? So after another trip to Walmart to exchange the defective bag and we were again in business. So we once again loaded it up. This time....Victory!! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...

Ryan has now been convinced and we will be getting more. Hooray for space bags!

Becoming One With The Earth.

We live in some pretty ghetto student housing apartments - full of leaks, mold, and apparently asbestos. There are some great perks though. We have a park right outside our house and we have a spot where we can have garden plots. For only a $5 fee we signed our for our tiny, tiny plot. On Saturday we got some plants and seeds and then headed over to our garden to plant them.

Az-man and Cam were a lot of help- and had a lot of fun.

On of our tomato plants that is sure to bring us luscious fruit!

The garden is behind chain link to keep any vagrants (aka kids) out...

We also have an awesome manhole cover in the middle of our garden...
hopefully it doesn't make our vegetables radioactive!

We planted tomatoes, bell pepper, zucchini, some other squash, carrots, lettuce, green beans, and sunflowers. SO glad that spring has finally shown her face in Utah!

Our Big News

Well... kind of news. Because we've announced on FB we've probably reached most anyone who reads this blog. If there is still anyone who reads it!

Anyway.... We're going to be adding another member to our awesome Farnsworth family. The astonishing news is that this baby is going to be evening out the numbers a little bit. That's right! We're having a baby girl! We are so excited to have a little girl.

I haven't posted a lot since we've moved to UT so I thought I'd do a major update post about what we've been up to since we moved.

The boys have both adjust well to moving into The Cave (aka the tiniest
apt in Utah).

Az-man's favorite play spot is under Cam's bed.
It could have something to do with alllllll the toys being under there....

The really nice thing about living in married student housing
is all of the other kids! There is a huge courtyard play area
right outside our front door.

We also took a trip to the Utah State Fair.

They had a really cool alligator show.

And since Cam looovveeesss to drive this was the perfect
ride for him. He loved it!

Then the apartment association where we live had a
fun little fair day for the kids.

Lots of fun- and the best part- FREE! Gotta love that!

Weekend BBQ Fun

Over labor day we were able to go to ID to spend some time with my family. I la-la-love that we are close enough to be able to do that now. My grandma is staying with my mom so we got to spend some time with her as well- she's had a lot of surgeries and health problems lately but she is such a strong lady and she has pulled through them all. She doesn't even complain! She is really an amazing person!

We took the opportunity to take some generational shots while there, Ryan made the comment that he didn't know any of his great-grandparents and that's it's really cool that our kids get to know a lot of theirs.

New Found freedoms

Before Cameron was willing to potty train, I tried to get him excited about peeing outside. It did nothing to motivate him, but he didn't forget it when he did potty train and he still loves it. His latest addition is to see how high he can make his 'stream' go. He might have raised the bar today. Here is the pic. He was standing in the exact same spot, but facing the fence.

On a less exhibitionist note, Cameron hasn't worn a diaper in about 2 months now. One day I decided to put a painters cloth under his sheets and give him his milk early. He went to bed in underwear and woke up dry, and hasn't ever wet his bed. Good Job Cameron!

I really love having the opportunity to live so close to the beach, aka The Shore as it's know to Jersey-ites. I really wish we could go every weekend! While I know that's never going to happen we did get a chance to go when we had friends in town staying with us for a few days. We went to a different beach this time and we really loved it! We all had a great time and we're going to go back in a few weeks when we have more people coming into town. YAY!

Strawberry Picking

We had been wanting to do strawberry picking after we came back from Idaho. We were finally able to do it yesterday- and just in time. They only had enough left to last them through the weekend. We all had a great time, I think Cameron the most. He loved finding good strawberries. AzMan just liked eating them- he would pull them off the plant and stick the whole strawberry in his mouth - he even continued to do that after we got home and was sneaking them out of the fridge.

Pool Time

Cameron recently started swimming lessons. The kind of lesson where just Cameron gets in the pool with his class and instructor. Lets just say the first lesson went less than stellar. Cameron cried The. Whole. Time. That screaming kind of cry. I was getting awesome dagger looks from the other moms watching. Faaannnnttttaaasssttttiiicccccc.

We decided that we need to go to the pool more often as he'd only been around twice in the past year. So we headed to the Y for some family swim time. Cameron did get in the pool without screaming for us- but only after he saw AzMan and Ryan having a good time. (Please excuse the Even crappier phone pics)

Ryan's Birthday

For Ryan's birthday I had to work in the morning and then for dinner we celebrated and went out to eat at Cracker Barrel. We have one down the street and we hadn't gone since we have moved here. We all had a really nice time- and Cameron and AzMan were on their best behavior. And, yes, AzMan's best behavior does include deliberately dropping food - but give the kid a break, he's not even one. Here are some pics - please forgive the terrible quality- they are from the cell phone.

Easter Day Prep

Today our Primary had a fun Easter party planned and the nursery was invited to we went to that. They made muffins, had a hop-a-thon, and planted flowers- this is the one Cameron and Ryan planted:

The "For Reals" Snow Day

I had posted a while back about our "Snow Day". I was mistaken. That was just to prepare Jersey-ites for the Real snow day. A week ago we got about 8 inches dropped on us. All the schools were canceled so Ryan got a day off. He and Cameron had a Blast playing in the snow.

There's a funny story about that. We didn't have a shovel- we hadn't needed one yet, and apparently we only get one snow like that a year here. So Ryan borrowed our neighbors- without their knowing- as they weren't home, but they'd left their shovel in front of their house. Ryan was being overzealous in his shoveling and he BROKE their shovel. OOps. So Ryan ended up buying two shovels that day. One to finish our walk and one to replace the neighbors. On the bright side we do now have a shovel for next years snow storm.

Please Touch Museum

A couple weeks ago we went with some friends to the Please Touch Museum in Philly. What a Great place! They have so many different rooms where kids can run around and experience everything. Cameron and Azer both had a great time- we ALL had a great time. My battery died after the second room so I didn't get a lot of photos- but we will be going back!

I can't believe my baby's turning three. He's getting so big and he's talking so much. He was going around the store today telling everyone "I gonna be free two mooro". He still cracks us (and most everyone we know) up with his dramatic facial expressions and gestures. He's also recently learned a couple of songs that he loves to sing. One's "Anything You Can Do" and the other is "The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock" (complete with hand gestures). He is a great big brother and Azman follows him around the house trying to do whatever he does.

We went to a birthday party a couple weeks ago and the theme was Peter Pan. We hodge-podged an outfit together for C. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

9 Months Old

I Can. Not. Believe. My AzMan is nine months old. He's getting so big and so independent. He really wants to do whatever C is doing. He is still army crawling- he knows how to crawl but only does if he's just in a diaper. He doesn't like his belly touching the ground. He's pulling himself up along things- and he's trying to climb the stairs. He gets one or two up and then starts yelling at me to come get him. Az is also SO verbal. He definitely lets you know when he's happy (or not). Here's some pictures from outside today- 68 degrees. It's supposed to snow next weekend. *Rolling Eyes*.

Fire Station Visit

I had wanted Cameron to visit the fire station so I set up a visit for Cameron and some of his friends from church. We had a lesson about fire safety for FHE and then on Friday (a week ago) we visited the fire station. Cameron was unsure at first but he warmed up quickly thanks to a helpful Mr. L and the nice firemen. We also got to see them go out on a call- and slide down the pole. Woo Hoo! All the kids had a great time- I'm really glad I set it up. Big shout out to the awesome firemen at Evesham Fire Dept!

I (Ryan) stayed home with Azer on Saturday while April took Cameron to a birthday party. Normally Azer goes right to sleep after he eats sometime between 1 and 3, but this time, he wouldn't do it. It was like he knew April was gone and he refused to sleep.

The only way I could get him to sleep was to lay down by him, then we both fell asleep. Fast forward an hour and a half or so...I had this dream that I was in class and my laptop kept making loud noises and no matter what I did (frantically pushing buttons, close the laptop) it wouldn't stop! It was an unsettling dream to say the least. Then Azer woke up and started crying, then I heard the phone ring. It was April - she was home, but left her house key inside and the door was locked. April had tried to call about 10 times. Azer woke me on the 7th or 8th.

She figured I was asleep and knew the only way to wake me would be to call until the phone woke Azer up. At least I know the laptop noises were the home phone, and don't need to worry about the laptop embarassing me.

10 Things that Bug

I've been tagged by Jen, and I'm normally to lazy to do them, but since she did leave a comment about it I guess I have to. So, with no further ado, TEN Things that Bug:

1. Fanny packs. Tourist or not those things are terrible.
2. Drivers who don't know how to merge properly. Or who don't care about merging properly.
3. Looonnnggggg waits in Dr's offices. And then only having the doctor spend five minutes with you.
4. That I say "No Worries" AAALLLLLLL the time. So annoying. I can't seem to stop myself.
5. Incessant talking in a movie theatre.
6. Drivers who speed up to get ahead of you and then slow down.
7. Smokers smoking right by the entrance to a store- so I have to walk through it with my kids. Gross.
8. When you order something at a restaurant with modifications and it comes out wrong.
9. People who fly on airplanes and expect no children.
10. No left turns/Jug Handles/ Tolls in New Jersey. Maybe that should just be driving in New Jersey.

Flash Practice

One of my new years resolutions is to become a better photographer. So I've joined a group, I'm giving myself challenges, and I'm trying to find people to shoot with locally. A recent assignment that I've given myself is to learn off camera flash. I've had all the tools- just never the motivation to learn it. So last night I got everything out to practice. I Really like it. Don't get me wrong- I hope to improve over these pictures tremendously, but I'm glad I finally made myself learn it. Or start to anyway. Here are my favorites of the boys.

More Cameron-isms

We're jointly writing this post, we want to record these things so we remember them later.

Any time we tell Cameron it's time for bed, or a nap, or bath, or to leave somewhere fun (like nursery today), he always (Always, always) negotiates for more time. He never gets much extra time, though, because the most time he knows how to ask for is "two more five minutes." Usually we just give him ten minutes notice, then his request is granted!

In our ward each family is assigned to a team that is required to clean the church once every other month. We were on duty yesterday, and April and I arranged and cleaned the cultural hall, overflow and chapel. While we were in the chapel, Cameron stood up on the stand, beside the podium and with hands spread wide was telling the imaginary audience "Welcome Elmo's world" and "welcome vacuum." And then he would do a fake laugh. When we have company over to our house he also tells people "welcome to my home" - and he'll keep saying it until he gets a response from the visitor.

Cameron can make his brother laugh and smile like no one else. He has just one trick in his repertoire and that is saying "Ah-Boo!" over, and over, and over. Azer laughs every time. When we are driving somewhere and Azer starts to get fussy I'll say to C "Make Azer smile" and it will start. It makes us smile too.

Last night April watched a DVD before bed and left it in the DVD player. This morning after Cameron woke up (too early for us, as usual) and had the milk I'd left in the fridge for him the night before, we heard Peter Pan playing pretty loud on the TV. Cameron got out our book of DVD's, found Peter Pan, switched it for the DVD in the player and managed to start it. He is not even three yet. 2 years, 9 months, 27 days. It takes some people longer than that to be comfortable with an electronic device. That's right, he's smart.

A lot of days Cameron and I (April) will do what C calls *projects*. Painting, coloring, learning sheets, glue - that's the sort of thing we do. The other day we had done a painting one where we made Rudolph out of Cameron and AzMan's handprints. When we were done with that I let Cameron paint on some paper. After he had gotten down and we were cleaning up I couldn't find the paper. I asked Cameron where it was and he said "On the Fridge!" with a "Duh, mom" look on his face. I went and looked and sure enough Cameron had taken off some of his old projects and put his new one on there.

A Superhero Christmas

We had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas in the Farnsworth house. In fact, we stayed in our pajamas all day and didn't leave the house. We munched on snacks and watched videos and played with our new toys all day. We are so blessed and very thankful for our families. We missed not being around any family this year on Christmas but it was nice starting our own traditions. We hope everyone else had a very blessed day!

We had our ward Christmas party last night and we all had a lot of fun. I think Cameron the most. At one point a couple parents threw about five kids (Cameron being one of them) into the breezeway so they could run around like crazies. And they did. And they loved it. And I didn't get any pictures of it. Dang. But have no fear- I did get a couple pictures.

My boys sported faux-hawks for the occassion. To bad they were outshined by a real mo-hawk. These guys were cuter though ;)

We went out today looking for some areas for "urban" settings for some photo sessions I have coming up. We went to a town that about six miles from us that I was told had that had that sort of look I wanted. While driving around we saw the Patco station. Ryan has wanted to take Cameron for a ride on it since we've moved here. So we decided to take it into Philly and go to this indoor food market we had heard about. Cameron loved the train! And I decided that I could definitely live in Philly. It's like NYC only cleaner and with narrower streets.

We dressed the boys in their Halloween costumes today so that Cameron could "Be Piderman" and to get pictures of course. It was actually not raining and warm enough (for five minutes anyway) to go outside for it!
Cameron loves to jump around and act like Spiderman. Especially throwing the webs out of his hands. Azer is a cute litte monkey- and it's only a little big- I guess that's what happens when you get hand-me-downs and your not quite big enough for them. Cameron's been practicing his trick or treating and takes his pumpkin around the house and fills it up with treats (or socks).

Watch out bad guys- spidey's on the prowl.

A pictorial essay

My days are mostly boring. I'm learning new things, going to work, etc, but like most people, most of my average day is not full of things I look forward to. The following is one of the few things that I really look forward to and enjoy.

It is one of the simple joys of my life.

Cameron loves yogurt and I like it too. Several times per week, sometimes right before I leave for school, sometimes before dinner, and sometimes right before Cameron goes to bed, I ask if he wants to share a yogurt, and he always does.

He runs to the fridge.

He gets out a yogurt, which we conveniently keep on the lowest shelf on the door.
He gets out a spoon, almost always a big spoon. Note that he can't open the drawer with one hand, so he sets down the yogurt...see it?

I am waiting on the couch where he comes running with the spoon and yogurt so we can share it.

When he brings the yogurt in he tells me what flavor he chose - "yummy peach" for peach or "berries" for raspberry, strawberry or boysenberry. Cameron always makes sure he's getting his half of the treat by telling me he wants a "BIG bite!" if my spoonfuls seem bigger than his. This kid can be excited about anything, but he's REALLY excited about this ALWAYS. Now that I think of it, I don't think he's ever declined to share a yogurt with me.

My Lil Punkin

On a photography board I frequent someone had posted the Cutest picture of a baby in a pumpkin with their feet sticking out the front. A-Dor-Able. Since Azer's 5 month pictures were coming up I decided to try that. So today, with the pumpkin we got at the patch the other day, we carved the pumpkin. Which really just consisted of cutting off the top, gutting and cutting some feet holes.

I did a quick set up with a rug and blanket and put Azer froggy style in the pumpkin- with the feet holes in the back. He did okay with those so we tried to turn him around and put his feet in the holes. Well... the holes were to small. Azer was pretty ticked that we even tried to force him in. Not being one to give up that easy I had Ryan cut the leg holes larger. So we crammed Azer in the pumpkin again and got his legs through the holes. And Azer was So excited about it. I don't think I've seen him so happy. Oh, wait...

Hmmmm... This isn't too bad.

We recently started a joy school type program with 8 other moms in my ward. The kids range in age from 4 to 2. Cameron LOVES going and I think he's already picked up on a lot already. Last week Azer and I hung out in the nursery and helped with the kids of the ladies who were teaching. This week I'm the "helper". Which basically means I take care of any kids that have meltdowns. Which hasn't been too many yet.

Today we went to the pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin for Azer's 5 month pictures... which will hopefully happen soon. We went with friends from our ward and we all had FUN! I think we need to get a big field for Cameron to run around in and he would be happy all day long.

Got what you deserved

We have a rule for Cameron that he doesn't have to eat his dinner, but if he gets down from the table to play we throw his food away and he is done for that meal. He usually protests while we are throwing his food away saying "More!" to indicate that he does want to eat more, but by that point we've given him fair warning and he doesn't get the chance to get his food back. After a short time for him to realize he's hungry, April will often offer him what's left on her plate, which he's usually glad to have.

At least once per week I make a breakfast of bacon and eggs for the whole family. If I do it right, the bacon is crispy, the egg yolks are runny, the potatoes are perfect. This morning, the yolks were all cooked, the pan I use was ruined, we didn't have potatoes, so had to settle for grits, which I don't like that much. By the time I was done mixing all my food together to make it palatable and smothering it with ketchup, I was pretty upset about the whole meal, then the toast I got to scoop it up with was burned. I decided I wasn't going to eat anymore and pushed it away in disgust

Cameron realized exactly what I was doing and why I was doing it. Not eating because he doesn't like the food isn't something we want Cameron to do, so to salvage a lesson for him in this, we tricked him. I left the table to use the laptop and April threatened to throw my food away if I didn't come back and eat it. I used the laptop anyway and she threw my food away for me (thanks, honey!) over my protests of "More!". For several minutes afterward, Cameron reminded me that "mom throw away food sit down" because I had left the table.

Cameron might have realized something fishy was going on when April offered me her burned leftover toast and grits and I declined. By the time he is old enough to read this, I guess he can afford to know the lengths we'll go to for a united front.

Ryan got free tickets to attend the Camden Riversharks baseball game and we had a lot of fun. Cameron had a great time cheering when everyone else did... and Azer just liked looking at everyone. We were going to get a family pic but we had to leave early as Cameron decided he didn't want to listen to anything he was told to do. Ah well, there's always next time, right?

The Park with Cameron

We went to the park the past two days and it gets increasingly harder to watch/follow Cameron around while carrying Azer. As some (most?) of you may know Cameron is a pretty friendly little boy and Several times in the past two days I've glanced over at him and notice him standing/talking to some other mom there. Greeeaaatttttt. So I run over and try to intervene. Cameron has asked these other mom's to:

1. Push him in the swings. Even if they are not even standing by the swings! LOL! I've noticed that this happens more often when I've told him that I won't push him right then.

2. Feed him. A mom was feeding her son some peaches. I walk over there and Cameron was telling her he was hungry. Oh the embarrassment. This was moments after I had just given him his water and goldfish.

3. He was trying to grab one mom's hand to take her for a walk.

So the moral of the story. If some random kid is trying to play with you at the park. Please be kind. :)

Meet Larry

Ryan started doing "Larry" to make Cameron laugh. The only problem is it scares him half the time. And let's be honest here- me too! Cameron will get scared- and then laugh. Then scared and laugh. One night, right before bed of course, Ryan was doing "Larry" a lot... and by the end of it Cameron was just scared. Greeaaattttt. Our conversation went something like this:
Cameron: Cameron Scared
Me: Why are you scared?
C: Thunder
M: There's no thunder.
C: Rain
M: Nope. No rain.
C: Dada Lrry
M: Ahhhh. Great.
So I calmed him down and he finally went to sleep. The next morning he woke Ryan up and the conversation was as follows:
Ryan: Does Larry face. Were you scared last night?
Cameron: Mama beat you.
So apparently Cameron got from our above conversation that I was going to go and beat up Ryan. HA!

It had been raining on and off for a couple of days and Cameron was going stir crazy from being cooped up inside the house. So we put on his rain coat and went and played in the rain. FUN! We both had a blast running through the puddles. Except when we got to the "dirty" puddle. Cameron kept saying "No like, Dirty" and "Yucky, Dirty" and then he would run through it again. "One More Time" he would say as he would hold out his hands and tilt his head for emphasis. I REALLY need to get that on video because Cameron can be Quite the dramatic little boy. He cracks us up!

Cameron celebrated his half birthday yesterday. Well, celebrated might be a stretch but I did take pictures. I can't believe my baby is growing up! I was telling Ryan that it's hard to remember when Cameron was as little as Azer. It is so amazing to watch him grow and learn though. We are truly blessed with our boys.

Down on the farm...

Tonight we went to this fun place near us called Johnson's farm. It has an awesome playgound, farms animals you can feed, a hayride and you get to pick fruit. Cameron had a blast! He love picking the fruit the best- we got apples and nectarines. Yummy! Azer pretty much slept the whole time- which was nice. Here are some pictures of our adventure:

So after my post the other day about Cameron's potty training we took the fabulous comments into consideration and went at it a little harder these past few days. Ryder played a HUGE roll in getting Cameron's "big boy underwear" on. We showed Cameron Ryder's picture wearing them and he was all for it! YAY! He did also poop and pee in them a couple of times yesterday- not so yay there- but it's got to start somewhere, right?? We've also been setting a timer and asking him every so often if he wants to sit on the potty. If he does then he gets a skittle. I did NOT want to bribe him with candy but I DO want him potty trained before he's married so whatever works at this point! LOL! We of course had to take pictures of the momentous occasion- what kind of mother would I be if I didn't ;)

Beach baby, Beach baby...

As we only live just over an HOUR from the beach we had to go before Ryan's school started and we got too busy and we missed the season. We had a great time and I'm sure we're going to have lots of fabulous times next summer. I Lalalalalove being so close to a beach. Cameron was hesitant about the water and preferred to be on the sand but he did get in a couple of times.

The water seemed a littler warmer than the CA beaches I've been to and there were a TON of jellyfish. They looked like ice on the sand. There was a little kid near us touching them so I don't think they were dangerous- but we all steered clear nonetheless. There was also way LESS seaweed. Hooray!

Cameron LOVES to help anytime he can in the kitchen. If he sees Anyone in there doing Anything he is pulling a chair from the table to come and help. Most of the time I am guilty of trying to dissuade him from "helping" but the other day I decided that was not the right attitude to have so we made cookies together. This morning Ryan was getting ready for his orientation at the Law School. Cameron was roaming around in his pj's. We went downstairs to get breakfast started and Cameron came down a few minutes later dressed as Ryan's mini-me. That kid is too funny! Granted the clothes were in the dirty pile and he got the shirt on backwards- but it's the thought, right?

At least we've now got a viable Halloween option- Dr.Evil and mini-me. Guess it's time to start shopping for the gray suits and bald caps.

Shortly after Azer was born Cameron started getting harder to put to bed at night. He wanted someone to lay by him while he went to sleep. "Byyyyyy youuuuuuuu" is what he would say every night in his sad voice. We've been kind of going along with it because of all the changes/transitions he's had to deal with recently. After we'd been in NJ about a week we decided to break that habit so I tried to give him a stuffed bear to do "by you". He wanted none of that- however he did ask for "Ifinity e beyon" (yes he's becoming bilingual- don't be jealous- LOL!). So now he goes to bed with Buzz. And the lights on and door open- but it's progress.
